Player of team Europe, Rory cried in his interview on 16. He said, “Incredibly proud to be part of this team. I’ve been extremely disappointed that I haven’t contributed moto to the team. The more I play in this event, the more I realize it’s the best event in golf. It’s the best.”
“Collin and Xander [Schauffele], very good partners — thank you for making my record,” Johnson, the world’s No. 2 player said, “It’s a dream to go 5-0-0 in a Ryder Cup,” said Johnson. “For the first four matches, I had great partners in Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele. We played great together and gelled really well. I am so proud of my teammates and my captains and loved the help from the fans. This award is something to be very proud of. All 12 of us showed great teamwork and came together as a team.”
“You put a point on the board and that’s all very nice but it doesn’t mean anything. OK, I’m unbeaten in singles – it’s nice personally but this is a team week and it is deflating. As a senior player in the team, you don’t really think there is many more left”. Another European player Ian Poulter said.
